@ Your Dwi

The process of clearing your name can be slow at times, and some cases do go on for as long as a year. We will do everything in our power to get this chapter of your life over with so you can get back to your job, family, and everything else you want to do. There are some things that will happen to you as they have to all of our clients.

You should expect to have meetings with us, and to appear in court when necessary, this is all a part of the process and is completely normal. We need to meet with you to gather as much information as possible; what happened to you, what tests did the officers use if any, what time of day it was, and other seemingly mundane details that may play a vital role in the process of preparing your defense. You must bring with you any and all paperwork received from the police at the time of your arrest and from all events that follow, gathering as much information as possible will help us to prepare a thorough and aggressive defense. There is a process in court which will have to be followed, an arraignment, hearing, and then usually the trial will begin. The first thing you should do is dress appropriately; many people charged with DWI have never been in a court room before, so show up how you want to be treated. The dress code should be business formal.  Make sure your cell phone is off, not on vibrate, the court room needs to be as silent as possible; you do not want to do anything to anger the judge. Do not bring anything that could be perceived as a weapon into the court room, if you are unsure about something; leave it in the vehicle in which you arrived. Do not bring any food, drink, or gum into the court room. Be sure to arrive on time, because everything when in a court room is about respect, and lateness is rude. Leave children and babies at home, some judges will not let them into the court room at all, so just to be sure , make arrangements before hand for someone to watch them. When addressing the judge, use the terms either your honor, or judge, because it does happen that on occasion as a result of nervousness clients may refer to a female judge as sir, or a male judge as ma’am. Follow these rules and any others we may instruct with verbally to make this process as smooth and painless as possible. In selecting us as your representation, you can be assured that you are in safe hands and that your future will be secure.
